It wie in modderich festivalwykein ferline wike, mar dat hold de Friezen net tsjin. “We sette troch”, klonk it motto fan it SOA Festival yn Surhuzum.

By oankomst yn Surhuzum rieden wy ús auto it sompige gersfjild op. “Ast der jûn net útkomme kinst, komt der wol in trekker dy’t dy derút sleept”, bewissigen de jonges dy’t by it parkearterrein de wacht holden, ús laitsjend.

Fierder kuierjend nei it festivalterrein hearden wy op ‘e eftergrûn de klanken fan Bildtse rockband Bildtstar. Spitigernôch hiene wy de earste band, it Dokkumer Atmoran, mist. Earst moasten we op ‘e siik nei learzens, ponsjo’s en reinjassen. Op de sosjale media waard al folop warskôge foar it modderige terrein. By de Scapino besleat ik om dochs mar gjin learzens te keapjen en op myn wettertichte kuierskuon te fertrouwen.

Hast op it terrein oankommen waard it ynienen stil, gjin muzyk mear te hearren. It publyk song lykwols ûnbehindere fierder en it drumstel joech noch altyd ritme oan. Ienkear op it festivalterrein seagen wy in bekende. “De stream is útfallen”, fertelde er drûchwei. Fuort dêrnei sprong alles wer oan en de Bildtstar spile gewoan wer fierder. Foar ien fan de twa poadia stiene sa’n fyftich minsken, de rest skûle yn de tinte dêr’t de bar ek stie. Der wie dy moarn hea struid, mar dat ferdwûn stadichoan yn ’e modder.

It paad nei de húskes wie mei rydplaten ferstevige, mar dy wiene yntusken djip ûnder wetter ferdwûn. It begûn my in bytsje te muoien dat ik dy learzens dochs net kocht hie. Elkenien rûn yn ponsjo’s en reinklean, as in soarte fan festivalunifoarm.
