Paaseierenjacht in Surhuizum

De paashaas heeft meer dan 250 eieren verstopt op het korfbalveld van Surhuizum. Schoolkinderen in Surhuizum en Augustinusga van groep één tot en met acht verzamelden zich voor de gesloten hekken. Om stipt 14.00 uur gingen de hekken open en was de jacht op de paaseieren geopend.

Het is een jaarlijks terugkerende traditie die al lange tijd in stand wordt gehouden. Elk gevonden ei kon ingeruild worden voor snoep. Er waren speciale gekleurde eieren te vinden, een groot ganzenei en daarnaast was er een kleurplaten wedstrijd. De eieren waren verstopt in het gras, de bosjes en de bomen op het korfbalveld. De paashaas heeft veel ervaring met het verstoppen van eieren en onthulde zijn ochtendroutine: “Ik kaam fan ‘e moarn út ‘e hoale en ik haw myn hier efkes kjimd. Ik ha myn kuorke pakt, doe ha ‘k wat aaien lein en doe bin ‘k se ferstopjen gien.”
